What Life is About

I believe life is about pursuing your dreams. I believe once you transformed your dreams to reality you have found the key to happiness. No matter how stressed out or frustrated we get, we have to continue chasing. We have to persevere to live the life that we want to live. We can't get jealous people get to us. We can't let anything let anything distract us or get in the way of our journey of success. We need to have an insane work ethic along with faith and perseverance.

I also believe that a major part of life is self-improvement. Everyone has a weakness. We can either let it stay as a weakness or get rid of it by putting in some work to improve it. The less weaknesses we'll have, the happier we'll be. When people have a lot of weaknesses they usually have a low self-esteem and feel worthless. Also a lot of people like to target your weakness and that would lead you to feeling inferior and angry. So when we get rid of our weaknesses nobody can bring you down and you'll be a stronger individual. That's why we always have to self-improve ourselves.

I also believe that life is about having fun. We need a break once in a while from all the work and pressure once in a while and just do something fun. If we don't have fun then our lives will be tedious and depressing. Our lives are more interesting when we have fun. We usually have more exciting stories to tell when you have fun. You can't take everything in life so seriously. We have to let loose and have a laugh every now and then.

My Biggest Fears

One thing I fear is never reaching success. What cause me to fear this is by looking at the people around me. Most people around me are struggling, barely able to pay their bills and at a dead end job that they hate or making illegal money. I'm scared to end up like that. I've had this fear for a couple years. That's why I try to do as much work as possible. Having this fear motivated me to become an over-achiever. Having this fear has made me a person that I'm proud to be.

Something else I fear is ghost. I remember when I was young I've watched a couple of horror movies and shows that involved paranormal activity and they were based on true stories. Seeing what spirits can do to you really horrified and traumatized me. Another thing that scared me about them is that they're invincible. You can't fight back or harm them in any way. Up to this point in my life I can't watch any movies that involve paranormal activity or even be in the presence of a ghost. I would feel uncomfortable and freak out.

Another thing I fear is losing someone I care about. I know it will happen some day. The reason I'm scared of it is because it has never happened to me before. I've never lost anybody I love. The thing that motivated this fear is looking how other people get damaged of such a traumatic situation. People really change after losing someone they love. I think losing someone you love is inevitable. I know I will know how it feels some day. I'm just scared on how it would impact my whole mentality and personality.

What I Truly Desire

One thing I want is knowledge. I want all the knowledge that I can get. I believe without knowledge I will be lost in this world. I believe that the more knowledge I have the more powerful I'll be. Even though I don't really have much care for having a lot of power, I can really use it to benefit myself and perhaps even benefiting others. I believe that the more knowledge I have, the better decisions that I'll be making for myself and I am very big on self-improvement. That's why I want knowledge.

Something else that I want is to fulfill my purpose. I have an idea of it. I believe my purpose is to be happy while doing the work of a C.P.A ( Certified Public Accountant) and a personal fitness trainer. I also believe that my purpose is to help other people find success by being an inspiration. I know I can be a C.P.A and a personal fitness trainer by putting in hard work in school, but to help other people find success by being an inspiration is the challenge. It's hard to be an inspiration when most people get jealous of how well you're doing because of the hard work you put in. I want to be an inspiration because I feel that there are not enough people in my society becoming successful. I want to make an attempt to change that. I want people to prosper and be happy with their lives as well.

Another thing I want is a family of my own. I want this because I want to teach my children a lot of things. I want them to have a lot of wisdom. Also, I want my family to be known as successful people. When I become the first successful person in my family, I'm going to lead my children to success. Later in the future my family will have a reputation for finding success. I also want to teach my kids not to follow the crowd if they're unhappy doing that. I want my children to be unique and also have confidence with being different. I want my children to have a lot of wisdom. If I can get all these things that I want, I'll feel like I don't need anything else in this world.

Introduction of Myself

My name is Matthew Goris. I live in the Lower East Side of New York City and I go to New Design High School in the Lower East Side. Some of my hobbies consist of reading, writing poetry, and working out. Now I started reading more during sophomore year of high school in 2013. I've started reading because I felt that I needed to expand my vocabulary. After finding some interesting books to read, reading became one of my hobbies. Now I've been working out for a couple years, but I started getting serious about it in the summer of 2013. At first I did it because I wanted to be stronger and seem more attractive. After a couple weeks, I've feel in love with it. Working out makes me feel energized and it feels me with positive thoughts. Now I started writing poetry during the autumn of 2013. This is during the time I had joined writing club in school. I like to write about the truth. So most of my poems are philosophical.

I have big goals. Some of my goals that I feel I can accomplish within these couple years are getting the highest average and graduate as valedictorian. I made the goal of getting the highest average out of my school when I got inspired by someone else who had gotten the highest average in one of my extra curricular activities. When I seen him get the highest average I knew I had potential to get higher than him. I actually did get higher than him one time, but I didn't get the highest average out of the whole school. This is a goal that I'm still pursuing and I'm getting closer and closer to accomplishing it. Another one of my goals is to get accepted to the university of Brockport and possibly to get accepted into their honors program. Brockport is my dream school. I want to go to that school to study business and fitness. I also want to try and inspire people to make better decisions when it comes to their health and academics. I feel I shouldn't be trying to only find success for myself. I want to help other people reach success as well.

My goals that'll take a while to accomplish is to graduate college with a masters career and become an C.P.A (Certified Public Accountant) and a personal fitness trainer. I've been wanting to become a C.P.A ever since I was in middle school. I got the idea from my uncle because he saw that I'm good at math. So I've been wanting to pursue that as a career because I'm good at math and I get a satisfaction when I'm solving math problems. I've decided that I wanted to become a personal fitness trainer as well when I found my love for working out. Also I've realized that it's an opportunity to help people who have health problems. I also want to get a house, get married, and have a child of my own. I hope to continue my family's generation as successful people.

Power Poetry

The people from Power Poetry asked me to write a poem. This is a poem on how I view life.

No matter how good we are,

We still make bad decisions
No matter how smart we are,
We still make stupid mistakes
No matter how honest we are,
We still tell our little lies
No matter how much we persevere,
We still have our moments where we give up
We are not perfect
That’s just reality
But always remember
No matter how many things we’ve been through
We can still be successful.
